Once you get close to Federico, you realize that everyone has lied, filled in holes and hidden information in a self-serving way.
This is not another fiction about Federico García Lorca.
This is a place of poetics speculations.
And we say well. We say speculations because there is nothing definitive until the genetics lab says otherwise.
«Federico. There is no forgetting, no dream: fresh flesh» is a document between memory, desire and imagination that travels to the bottom of the earth, where the disappeared live.
Federico. No hay olvido, ni sueño: carne viva is a documentary and artistic research project that includes a podcast of the same name. As related content, we have created a section called Tejer memoria (Weaving memory) that appeared on La Ventana de la Cadena SER in July 2025.
Some words from the author
“When I was seventeen years old I saw Josefa Torrecilla, my great-great-grandmother, being unearthed from a grave. Since then I have always wanted to get closer to the exhumations of the victims of the Spanish Dictature, but between life, some things and others, it has not been until now when it has been possible.”
Logically, the commission I received from the Diputación de Granada to generate a documentary work on Federico García Lorca and his relationship with Valderrubio led us to the ravine of Víznar, where a documentary work on Federico García Lorca and his relationship with Valderrubio led us to the ravine of Víznar, where for four years now bones have been exhumed and stories unearthed.
Between Valderrubio and Víznar a fascinating world opened up. And from that journey, this piece is a document compiled by Pablo Rodríguez, Alba Muñoz and myself, in an attempt to contribute something to the preservation of the memory of our country.
